Federal Way Meditation (“we”, “us”) runs a meditation center at 3410 S 272nd St, Kent, WA 98032 and the website at federalwaymeditation.org. This policy explains what happens to your information when you contact us, book a session, or simply read this site.

We keep this short on purpose. If something here is unclear, email federalway.meditation@gmail.com and we will answer plainly.

The short version

  • We collect only what we need to contact you and run your sessions.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
  • We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
  • You can ask us to delete what we hold about you at any time.

What we collect

When you book a consultation

Our booking calendar is provided by Calendly. When you book, Calendly collects the name, email address, phone number and any notes you enter, and passes them to us. Calendly processes this on its own systems under its own privacy policy.

When you contact us

Our contact form opens your own email application, so your message reaches us as an ordinary email. We receive whatever you choose to write, plus your email address. Phone calls and voicemails are handled the same way — we keep only what we need to call you back.

When you attend sessions

For members and people going through the levels, we keep basic records: contact details, which sessions you attended, which level you are on, and notes a guide may make to support your practice. Those notes exist so the person guiding you does not have to start from scratch each time.

When you just read the site

We do not set analytics or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, as almost all web hosts do.

Things that talk about your mind

People sometimes tell us about stress, anxiety, sleep, grief or difficult experiences — in a message, in a consultation, or during practice. We treat anything of that kind as private. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for marketing, and we do not discuss it outside the guides who are working with you.

Washington's My Health My Data Act gives Washington residents specific rights over consumer health data. If you would like to know what we hold, or want it deleted, email us and we will handle it.

Third-party services on this site

Some pages load content from other companies. When they load, those companies can see your IP address and may set their own cookies. They act under their own privacy policies, not ours.

  • Calendly — the booking calendar on our free consultation page.
  • YouTube — video embeds on our videos page. We use the youtube-nocookie.com domain, which does not set tracking cookies until you press play.
  • Google Maps — the map on our home, contact and visit pages.
  • Zoom — used for live online sessions.
  • Our web host — serves the pages and keeps server logs.

If you would rather not load any of these, most browsers let you block third-party content per site.

What we never do

  • We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
  • We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not add you to a mailing list because you booked a consultation.
  • We do not publish anything you told us, including reviews or testimonials, without asking you first.

How long we keep things

Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are cleared out periodically. Records for current members are kept while your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can pick things up if you return. Ask us to delete them sooner and we will.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you,
  • correct anything that is wrong,
  • delete it, or
  • stop contacting you.

Email federalway.meditation@gmail.com or call (253) 520-2080. We will respond within 30 days, and there is no charge.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Younger people are welcome at the center with a parent or guardian.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. We keep member records to the minimum needed and limit access to the guides who need them. No system is perfect, but we do not hold payment card numbers on this website — memberships are set up in person.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be mentioned at the center.
